A Good Forest for Dying
by Patrick Beach
This Austin newspaper reporter was covering the tragic death of fellow Texan David Gypsy Chain, who was killed when an angry Pacific Lumber logger felled a giant tree on top of him in September of 1998. Beach became so taken with the story and the characters that he wrote a book. It covers some history of the long battle for the redwoods, many interviews with people close to Gypsy and previously untold stories about the personal journey of David Gypsy Chain.

I found this in an obscure used book store, so do not know how available it is, but the photos are stunning, delicious and exciting. They tell the story of the salmon beautifully and elegantly. It is on our bookshelf, so you can come by the BACH office and check it out.
