Forest Activist UPDATE and EVENT NOTICE
<::><::><::><::><::><::><:: ><><::><::><::><::><::><::><::>

After event-filled bankruptcy court hearings in Corpus Christi, Texas in late April/early May, what the judge is calling "final hearings" will take place May 15 and 16. (See our 5/4 update and spring newsletter). These hearings will be followed by a **DECISION** regarding who will sit in the driver's seat, making decisions about management of over 200,000 acres of redwoods, doug fir forest and coho salmon streams that Maxxam took over 2 decades ago.

COME and hear the outcome at a BACH get-together on THURSDAY, MAY 29, at the ECOLOGY CENTER, 2530 San Pablo Ave. 1 block south of Dwight), Berkeley.

We will have a focused discussion about changes proposed for the publicly-owned Headwaters Forest Reserve at 6:30. This smaller group discussion will be followed by the update on Pacific Lumber's redwoods at 7:30.

Come get the latest low-down and talk about what the future might hold for our precious redwood forests! This will be a participatory discussion, questions and answers, with lots of background available. Hope to see you!

Directions:
It is a long (1.25 mi.) but not impossible walk from North Berkeley BART. AC Transit lines 72 (along San Pablo) and 9 (Berkeley BART to San Pablo/Dwight).

You can call us at the number below if you need more information.
